Judo

Judo is the world's most practiced grappling system and an Olympic sport. Judo was developed in Japan by a professor named Jigoro Kano in the late 1800's from Japanese Jiu-Jitsu. The system has gained a large following due to its relative simplicity compared to the myriad of different arts practiced in Japan and due to Kano's deliberate pedagogical system of training. Judo is utilized by many armies as their martial art of choice and has spawned number of other arts including Sambo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
